Art and cultural projects with an international focus

Art, Culture

Through its General Project Funding scheme, the Federal Cultural Foundation supports innovative arts and cultural projects with an international focus. Applications may be submitted by cultural institutions, associations and formally organised groups. The amount of funding requested must be at least 50,000 euros. At least 20 per cent of the total costs must be financed by secured own funds or third-party funding.

Next application deadline: 31 January 2027

What is funded?

Funding is available for contemporary projects in fields such as theatre, music, dance, literature and the visual arts, as well as cross-disciplinary initiatives. These may include exhibitions, performances or series of events. The decisive factors are artistic quality and the international context. Cultural exchange or encounters alone are not sufficient to constitute a funding priority.

An international dimension may, for example, arise through collaboration with an organisation abroad or the significant involvement of cultural practitioners from different countries. Individual artists cannot submit an application.

Applications can be submitted online throughout the year. The regular deadlines are 31 January and 31 July, at 12 noon on each date.
