A space for ideas, technology and creativity!
Through the ‘Maker Spaces’ special fund, the German Children’s Fund (Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk) supports the establishment and further development of innovative learning spaces in schools as part of the ‘Zukunft Mitgemacht’ initiative.
In so-called ‘Maker Spaces’, children and young people can experiment with digital and analogue tools, bring their own ideas to life and work together to develop creative solutions. The aim is to strengthen their technical, creative and social skills and to create new learning opportunities.
Funding is available for projects that give children and young people hands-on access to digital technologies and creative design. Examples include 3D printers, laser cutters, cameras and green screens, or laptops and tablets.
Eligible applicants include schools, school support associations and parents’ initiatives with registered association status that have not yet received funding for a Maker Space.
The grant usually amounts to €10,000.
You can submit your project idea by 31 October 2026. Following a shortlisting process, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full funding application by 15 January 2027.
