Foundation Award for Civic Engagement in Care

Competition, Social affairs

The LebensWerte Altenpflege Foundation awards its Foundation Prize for civic engagement, which carries a prize of 5,000 euros.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for individuals, groups, initiatives or projects whose civic engagement improves the lives of older people, promotes social inclusion or creates new ways of providing support and fostering connections. Those interested may either apply themselves or be nominated by third parties.

“Civic engagement is an indispensable pillar of dignified and fulfilling care for older people. With this foundation award, we aim to recognise people who often do great work behind the scenes and whose dedication strengthens our sense of community,” explains Prof. Dr Christel Bienstein on behalf of the jury of the LebensWerte Altenpflege Foundation.

Applications and nominations can be submitted with immediate effect. The name of the nominated person, group or initiative is required, along with a brief explanation of why they deserve this award.

The Foundation Prize will be presented at the general meeting of the Kuratorium Deutsche Altershilfe (KDA) on 26 November 2026 in Berlin.
