We Christmas: Funding for initiatives to tackle loneliness

Through its ‘Gemeinsam stark’ funding scheme, the nebenan.de Foundation supports, as part of the ‘Wir Weihnachten’ initiative, activities that bring people together during Advent and Christmas and help to combat loneliness. Funding of 1,000 euros is available for local charitable organisations, whilst volunteers can receive up to 100 euros.

Purposes of funding and eligibility criteria
Non-profit and charitable organisations, as well as private individuals involved in voluntary work, are eligible to apply. Organisations are considered charitable if they support people who are in need of assistance due to their personal or financial circumstances.
Funding is available for open community and support initiatives that facilitate social contact, strengthen neighbourhoods and promote social inclusion.
The funding is determined by the applicants:

Non-profit organisations: 1,000 euros

Private individuals: reimbursement of up to 100 euros
The planned activities must take place in Germany between 28 November and 28 December 2026, serve the public good and must not be commercially oriented.
Applications can be submitted online from 3 to 30 November 2026. Provided the eligibility criteria are met, funding will be awarded upon receipt of applications, subject to funds being available. It is therefore worth applying early.
