“We for Tomorrow” is an initiative by Union Investment and is awarding grants totalling 430,000 euros this year (2026) for projects in the fields of social welfare, education and the environment. Charitable associations and organisations are eligible to apply.
Flagship projects wanted
With the “Wir für morgen” award, Union Investment aims to recognise unique projects in the fields of the environment, education and social affairs that serve as inspiring role models and break new ground.
This year, a special ‘Start-up Capital’ prize is also being awarded to three project ideas from school pupils on the theme of youth development. Applications can be submitted via the respective school’s friends’ association.
A jury will select the winners based on the following criteria:
- Potential for change: The project or initiative takes an innovative approach to problem-solving and demonstrates foresight in assessing future developments. The project or initiative has great potential to bring about change, encourage people to rethink their views, or raise public awareness of the issue in question.
- Potential to mobilise: The project or initiative has great potential to win others over to the idea or plan and motivates them to act in the same way.
- Partnership: Helping people to help themselves. Solutions actively involve those affected and empower them to take responsibility. People interact as equals.
- Exemplary nature/professionalism: The concept is well thought out and stands out for its clear and comprehensible structure. Its structure and organisation ensure its long-term viability. Communication is transparent and answers all key questions, e.g. regarding decision-making, the funding structure and the use of donations
