Volunteering deserves a round of applause – and tickets

Ludwigshafen, March 2026 – Nominate dedicated individuals for free tickets until 15 May. We’d like to say thank you and invite volunteers to celebrate at the Ludwigshafen Eulen’s home match on 23 May 2026 at the Friedrich-Ebert-Halle.
23 May 2026 is a day of celebration
Wer kennt sie nicht? Die Nachbarin, die seit Jahren die
Flüchtlingshilfe organisiert. Den Kollegen, der jeden Samstag im Tierheim ausmistet.
Oder die Freundin, die im Sportverein Kinder trainiert – ehrenamtlich, selbstverständlich
und unermüdlich.
Am 23. Mai 2026 ist es Zeit, DANKE zu sagen! Denn an diesem Tag, dem Geburtstag
unseres Grundgesetzes, hat Bundespräsident Steinmeier den EHRENTAG ausgerufen –
ein Tag, der zeigt: Gesellschaft lebt vom Mitmachen.Und wir machen mit! Die Ludwigshafener Engagement-Agentur LUnited vergibt kostenfreie Tickets für ein Spiel der 2. Handballbundesliga der Eulen Ludwigshafen am EHRENTAG – als kleines, aber herzliches DANKEschön an alle, die sich engagieren.
How does it work?
It’s simple:
- Nominate volunteers in Ludwigshafen (friends, acquaintances,
neighbours – as long as they’re pitching in!) - Send a brief explanation (Why does this person in particular deserve a THANK YOU
and a round of applause?) - Up to four tickets per nomination are available!
Why handball? Because team spirit, fair play and passion are paramount here – just like in volunteering! And because we believe that those who give to others should get something back in return. “Together we are strong – on the court and in life!”
Taking part is doubly rewarding:
- For the volunteers: an exciting match, applause and a break from everyday life.
- For everyone else: the chance to celebrate everyday heroes – and to become part of a
movement that shows: volunteering isn’t a given, but the very foundation of our
society.
When will the VOLUNTEER Match Day take place?
Saturday 23 May 2026
Start: 6.00 pm
Doors open: 4.30 pm
Friedrich-Ebert-Halle, Ludwigshafen
