Recruiting, supporting and retaining volunteers in the long term
This three-day training course is aimed at both paid and voluntary staff who coordinate volunteers within their club or organisation, or who would like to take on responsibility in this area in the future.
This introductory course provides a practical introduction to the fundamentals of successfully promoting volunteering. The focus is on recruiting, supporting and recognising volunteers, as well as developing suitable volunteering opportunities.
Participants will learn how to identify the need for volunteers, develop specific volunteering profiles, and recruit, train and support volunteers over the long term. The various areas of responsibility involved in volunteer coordination will be taught in a practical manner using the Ferris wheel model of volunteering promotion.
