Dealing with discrimination in the comments section
Anti-racism
Tuesday, 1 December 2026, 5.00 pm – 6.15 pm, online, free of charge. Part of the series ‘DSEE Explains Online Hate’. Organised by the German Foundation for Civic Engagement and Volunteering.
Encouragement rather than incitement
In this webinar, you’ll learn how discrimination manifests itself in the comments section and what linguistic tools you can use to skilfully counter it. The aim is to ensure that trolls stay away in future and that those affected, as well as your own community, are protected. You’ll also gain an insight into typical disruptive strategies and an overview of the measures that support constructive discussions and how to promote positive narratives.
The webinar is aimed at people with or without responsibility for social media channels who have little or no experience of hostility in comments sections.
