Course content
Topics include the legal basis, the requirements for charitable status (altruism, articles of association, objectives), tax treatment (tax exemptions, the creation of reserves), donations (types, requirements, donation receipts, liability) and sponsorship (distinction from donations, tax classification and consequences). In addition, recent amendments from the Annual Tax Act 2025 will be explained in a practical manner to highlight legal certainty and opportunities for optimisation in fundraising.
Speaker Mathias Lindemann is a solicitor and has specialised in providing tax advice to charitable organisations and public-law bodies since 1999. Since 2000, he has been a lecturer at the Fundraising Academy and a visiting lecturer at Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences. He also has many years’ experience on the boards of non-profit organisations.
